WPT 121 - GTAW (TIG) Welding II

Course Description

This course builds off the theory and skills learned in WPT 120. Providing students, the opportunity to learn and apply welding techniques using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) process on ferrous metals and nonferrous metals in more complex positions. Successful students will have the skills and confidence required to meet the workforce practices. Group 2 course.

Course Learning Outcomes

Knowledge:
  • Define and use advanced terminology common to the welding trade as defined by the American Welding Society (AWS).

  • Demonstrate proper handling, setup, and adjustment of GTAW equipment.

  • Demonstrate the ability to complete welds on ferrous and nonferrous metals in more complex positions with the GTAW process.
