Course Description

This course is a survey of the history of Western Music from medieval Europe to the present. Each music era of Western culture will be examined in regards to significant composers and compositions. This course places a strong emphasis on learning to listen and also provides students the opportunity to become familiar with the basic elements of music. No musical background or training is assumed or required. Group 1 course.
